根据短文内容判断正误,正确的在括号里填A, 错误的在括号里填B。Sometimes people say that they see strange flying objects (物体) high up in the sky. People call these strange objects “Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs)”.
Dennis Bardens wrote an article. In it, he told us that he once saw a UFO himself. He had dinner one night with a friend near Tripoli, Libya. After dinner Dennis with his friend walked across a yard (院子) to his room. He noticed that the “moon” looked strange that night. But it wasn’t the moon. He saw the object’s light was moving. It seemed to be an object like a big plate. In some ways it looked like smoke with light on it. But it wasn’t smoke because it didn’t change its shape (形状). When the object was nearer, he noticed that its bottom (底部的) part was brighter than the top. The bottom part was yellow and the top was red. Then the object suddenly turned away and left, moving very fast.On a later day, Dennis talked to other people about it, and he found some people also saw it. They all described (描述) it in the same way. 小题1:Dennis Bardens wrote an article about a UFO.小题2:The object looked like smoke because it often changed its shape.小题3:Dennis saw some people in the object looking at him.小题4:The object’s bottom part was yellow and the top was red.小题5:Dennis was the only man who saw the UFO that night.

So it seems like you're sticking with the "women empowerment" theme. Is that a coincidence, or is there a reason you're attracted to this theme?
The stars are still there. It's just that their light is little compared to the light that is now streaming to earth from the sun. This light is scattered in a number of ways,& and the result is that our eyes are "overloaded" by so much light and cannot detect the faint points of light that are the stars during the day.
A somewhat odd example might be seeing someone a couple of hundred yards away using a flashlight at night to look for something on the ground. The same person seen in daylight would look odd, but the point is that you wouldn't be able to see the light from the beam of the flashlight sweeping around in the day like you would at night.

The main reason you can't see the stars at night is light pollution. This is when light from street lights and cities creates a glare in the sky and blocks out the light. Anot&her reason is clouds and humidity. Clouds and thin layers of mist can also block light.

The year 2013 was not good for Nigella Lawson. The "Domestic Goddess" suffered public physical abuse at the hands of her now ex-husband Charles Saatchi over the summer, but wi&th the fall came even more controversy. Two personal assistants claimed in court that Lawson paid them to help keep her cocaine addiction quiet. Lawson admitted to doing the drug, but denied an addiction. In 2013, Southern celebrity chef Paula Deen found herself at the receiving end of a racial discrimination lawsuit that claimed she used discriminatory remarks in front of bi-racial employees. Deen issued a strange, tearful apology, claiming she used a controversial word in the
the judge dismissed the charges. Companies, including the Food Network, terminated contracts with Deen.In 2012, the New York Times published an unusually terrible review of Guy Fieri's American Kitchen and Bar restaurant that accused the food of being "pale and unsalted" and drinks of tasting like "radiator fluid and formaldehyde." Fieri fired back on the "Today Show" and fans weighed in online, claiming the review was unfair. It even turned into an elitist vs. working guy pop culture debate.Claiming another chef's recipe as your own is as close as it gets to plagiarism in the food world, and rumor has it that is why Anne Thornton, host of the Food Network's "Dessert First," lost her job after just two seasons. Thornton and the network have both denied the claims, but an insider told the media that the pastry chef often copied recipes from people like Martha Stewart and Ina Garten. When one little boy with leukemia declared his last wish was to cook with Ina Garten, aka the Barefoot Contessa, the Make-a-Wish foundation tried to make it happen. Twice. Both times Garten refused due to scheduling issues, which didn't make fans or the media too happy. The chef later promised to have the child visit her on set. When Cat Cora rear-ended another car in 2012 in Santa Barbara, local police who responded to the accident thought the celebrity chef was a bit intoxicated. As it turned out, her blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit and Cora ended up pleading "no contest" to a DUI charge. She got off with three years' probation, a hefty fine, and a typical celebrity apology proclaiming her "deep regrets."When "Mad Men" star January Jones had a baby boy in 2011, she refused to name the father publicly, but one rumor that is often tossed around is that it is celebrity chef Bobby Flay. It all started when Jones had a car accident and instead of calling a close friend or family member to help, the actress called the three-time married Flay who promptly arrived at the scene.Mario Batali may be the king of Italian cooking in the eyes of some, but when it comes to his employees, he may just be the king of cheapskates. In 2010, several people who once worked for Batali and his partner, Joe Bastianich, filed a lawsuit claiming the men would take cash representing wine sales from the staff's tips. Batali and Bastianich settled the suit for over $5 million.Emeril Lagasse and Martha Stewart are partners when it comes to selling Lagasse's products, but even two big names like that can't keep the media away when the products turn out to be fake. A set of Lagasse's knives sold on the Home Shopping Network, with the company claiming they came from a city in Germany known for its cutlery. When fans found out they were made in China, a lawsuit followed.Fans of Geoffrey Zakarian may have been surprised to learn he filed for bankruptcy in 2011, and even more surprised when they learn why. Zakarian was the subject of a lawsuit by some former employees who claimed, among other things, that he failed to pay them time and a half for working overtime and falsified records to shortchange their paychecks. He denied the claims.
"Cold Mountain" is a movie about a wounded soldier trying to return home to Cold Mountain, North Carolina in order to reunite with the woman he fell in love with before being &shipped off to war. The movie received a decent amount of attention and did remarkably well at the box office. The budget for the film was $79 million while the numbers it pulled in were upwards of $173 million. Given the list of stars appearing in the film, it is little wonder that people were interested in seeing it.Jude Law plays W.P. Inman, a Confederate soldier who met a woman, Ada, before being shipped off to war. At the beginning of the movie, Inman is seen reading letters from her. When his unit is attacked and he survives, he decides to desert the army and return to his hometown in Cold Mountain, North Carolina in order to be with Ada. Along the way, he faces off against Confederate soldiers turned vigilante in their dealings with deserters, and fights his way out of each scrape so that he can keep moving forward. When he finally reaches home, he has one night with Ada before the Home Guardsmen track him down. They know him to be a deserter, and they plan to kill him.Kidman plays Ada Monroe, the woman Inman met before being shipped off to war. She was a city woman whose father passed away, and she was left to care for the family farm. Being raised away from that life, she has absolutely no idea how to keep the farm running. Her neighbors help where they can, and they send Ruby Thewes to help her out. The two women form a close friendship, and Ruby teaches Ada about running a farm. Ada continues to wait for Inman, hoping that he will return to her. When he does, she doesn't recognize him at first, and almost kills him. However, once she recognizes him, the two lovers reunite and spend the night together.Renee Zellweger plays Ruby Thewes, a young woman who has had a hard life, but is highly skilled at running a farm. She moves in with Ada to help her turn the farm around, and teaches Ada how to run it properly. The women grow close, and rely on each other for a lot while they each deal with their own problems. During the course of the film, Ruby's estranged father shows up and reconciles with her while she also falls for the mandolin player who travels with him. Ruby eventually marries Georgia and they have a child together.Hoffman, ever true to his way of playing interestingly demented characters, plays Reverend Veasey, a corrupt preacher who is trying to kill his pregnant lover. Inman arrives and talks him out of it, and then Veasey follows Inman on his journey. As the two travel, they come across a young man trying to butcher his cow to feed his family, and they offer their assistance. After helping to butcher the cow, Veasey and Inman join the man and his family for dinner. The women in the family try to seduce Veasey, and when the young man returns with the Confederate Home Guard, Veasey is taken prisoner.Portman plays Sara, a young widow with an infant to raise on her own. When Inman comes across her cabin in the woods, she allows him food and shelter for the night. The next day, Union soldiers show up demanding food. Sara shoves Inman away so that he won't be killed, but he only hides a few feet away from the house. Two of the soldiers leave Sara's baby out in the cold, though the third attempts to keep the baby warm. He is not as brutal as his companions. The other two attempt to rape Sara, and are killed by Inman. Sara shoots the third soldier. There were certainly more char however, these five were the main ones. Each character played an important role in the overall arc of Inman's story, and without them, he may not have made it back to Cold Mountain, or to Ada. His need to see Ada kept him going, and through perseverance he made it back to her. Inman and Ada's tragic story captured the hearts of critics and audiences alike.Historians from several top universities were shown the screening of Cold Mountain and asked to give feedback on the accuracy of historical events contained within it. Since the film centers around the Civil War, there were two significant incidents that the historians discussed. The first was the fact that the crater sequence in the beginn however, it lacked the details for which that skirmish took place. The second point regarded the Confederate Home Guard and their brutality. Some historians felt it was completely fabricated, but some felt it addressed a real issue since North Carolina had many sympathetic to the union. The Home Guard was known to be more hostile to those not loyal to the South.
Sometimes there are cold nights that just call for warm desserts. Desserts that are warm are often challenging in terms of baking, but are delicious when you get them right. W&hile some can be tackled relatively easily, others desserts only come naturally with a certain degree of skill and precision. Here are five warm desserts that can hit the spot on a cold night.Apple pie is often thought of as the classic American dessert. It is versatile in the sense that it can be eaten both hot and cold. Rich shortcrust pastry is used, with a deep filling of sugar-glazed apples. When served warm, apple pie can be eaten with ice cream or cream. This is a dessert that keeps relatively well, especially when stored in the fridge.Sticky toffee pudding is a dessert that is classically eaten at Christmas in Britain. However, it can be enjoyed at any time of the year. With a very moist sponge pudding base, the pudding can be eaten straight away, drizzled with a freshly made sticky toffee sauce. If you want to make a large batch for later, you can do. Most sticky toffee puddings can be stored for up to a week, as can the sauce.Baked Alaska is unique in the sense that it is served both hot and cold. It is made of ice cream that is encased in sponge cake and meringue, which is then flame "baked" using flammable alcohol that is set alight. This dessert is notoriously hard to make, and should be eaten as soon as the flame baking process has taken place. In the United States, Baked Alaska day is held on February 1st. In France, this dessert is known as "glace au four."Brownies are simple enough to make, and can be eaten both hot and cold. When aiming for a warm dessert effect, it is best to aim for a brownie consistency that is likely to remain soft. By doing this, you can ensure the brownie stays gooey in the middle. This can usually be achieved by increasing the amount of chocolate that is present, and slightly decreasing the amount of flour. Alternatively, use good quality vegetable oil in place of your eggs. This is a technique used by vegans, who adopt oil as an egg substitute. Peach cobbler, also known as peach crumble, is like a peach-filled pie with a crumbled top. Usually, a baking dish is filled with peach, before being covered with a batter and biscuit crust. This is a dessert that is primarily served warm, often with cream or ice cream. Cobbler dishes can apply to most fruit fillings. In some cases, savory fillings are used. The majority of warm desserts can be made within an hour. With the exception of the Baked Alaska, they can also be stored, which means that making a large batch is an advantage for any baker. Desserts that have been stored should be kept in the fridge for around a week, and then heat in the microwave for around 30 to 40 seconds, before being served. When reheating any dessert, always check that the middle is not too hot for consumption. The majority of these desserts can be made using vegan baking substitutes. You can have a quick warm dessert fix by making a brownie in a mug. Mix a quarter cup of flour with the same amount of sugar, two tablespoons of cocoa powder, a tablespoon of oil, and a pinch of salt. Mix in enough water to make the consistency smooth. Cook in the microwave for 1 minute and 40 seconds, and you will have a brownie in a mug.
A runny nose, sore throat, coughing, sneezing, congestion, fatigue and achiness are all symptoms that add up to the dreaded common cold. While it is hardly a medical emergency&, a cold takes its toll on your health and your daily functioning. No miracle cure exists for the common cold, but plenty of effective home remedies help you fight off cold symptoms quickly and get back to normal.Fluids are critical to combating cold symptoms. Fluids help cut down on congestion, keep you hydrated and keep your throat moist. When experiencing flu symptoms, drink at least eight glasses of water daily as well as herbal tea, ginger ale and even chicken soup. Avoid sodas, sugary fruit juices and other caffeinated beverages, which only dehydrate you.A warm salt water gargle is a widely-known and frequently invoked home remedy for the cold. Simply mix about 1/2 teaspoon of salt with 8 ounces of water, gargle, rinse and repeat four times a day. Gargling with warm salt water moistens your throat and relieves soreness, swelling and coughing. Inhaling steam is another helpful cold remedy that reduces congestion and soothes your irritated throat. Just hold your head over a pot of boiling water, and inhale the steam, making sure not to burn yourself. A few drops of tea tree oil or eucalyptus in the water help reduce mucus and soothe a sore throat. A humidifier also serves to create extra moisture and is very effective in treating cold symptoms, especially when left running overnight.Over-the-counter saline nasal sprays help reduce both congestion and nasal irritation. Unlike nasal decongestants, which often cause symptoms to worsen when you stop taking them, nasal sprays have few potential adverse effects. Saline nasal sprays also help remove bacteria and virus particles from your nose.Plenty of bed rest is valuable in the fight against cold symptoms. Even skip out on exercise if you feel especially fatigued. Combating a cold takes a lot out of you, and staying warm and comfy in bed helps your body reduce stress and fight off the virus faster. Additionally, staying in bed and resting means you are not out spreading the cold virus further.Cold symptoms are more of an irritation than a legitimate health concern, but these home remedies offer serious relief. A cold is generally just that, but always be cautious. Consider a doctor visit if you experience symptoms that last more than a couple of weeks or suffer a persistent fever.Over-the-counter medicines like cough syrup and acetaminophen offer temporary relief of cold symptoms, but they do not actually fight the virus, and excessive use causes health problems. Avoid these types of medicines, or at least use them sparingly.
What's the meaning of the nativity story and the Star of Bethlehem? Most know the Christmas story of the three &Wise men& who came to pay homage to the newborn Jesus &following a brilliant star. But who were the Wise men, and what was the significance of the &nativity&?The use of &Wisemen& refers to those ancient seers of the sky or the sages known as the Magi. The Magi were the priests of esoteric knowledge within an ancient Persian belief system known as Zoroastrianism. The Magi were the adepts of alchemic arts, hermeticism and divination but also acted as learned counselors offering advice in the courts of kings.Ancient kingdoms were very much in tune with the rhythms of the planets and stars in the sky. One such rhythm which can be seen reflected in the 12 year cycle of the Chinese calendar (as it repeats in 12 years x 5 = 60 years' time) is the interaction between the giant outer planets Jupiter and Saturn. Every 18-20 years, the planets Jupiter and Saturn become conjunct to hold the same zodiac sign and degree position in the sky, process known widely in the ancient world as a &Great Conjunction&. This cycle can be accurately tracked by the total duration of the Chinese calendar in 60 years.A Great Conjunction is an astrological aspect that occurs when the two planets Jupiter and Saturn occupy the same position in the sky (0 degrees of separation).Even during a Great Conjunction these planets rarely overlap to glow together as one object in the sky due to the difference in the planes of orbit. Yet it is thought that the nativity of Jesus, when the three Wisemen saw the star appear in the night sky, must have been such a precise alignment of conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn that it caused the appearance of a brilliant star glowing overhead. Therefore, such an omen to the Magi was even more unique than just a Great Conjunction because the amazing accuracy of the alignment. The Great Conjunction was often read by civilizations of the ancient world as a time of change, upheaval or dynastic shift for a kingdom. In the modern world, we know the Great Conjunction foreshadows the sunspot maximum, which does in fact have a very real effect on the earth--and especially agrarian civilization. The Nativity of Jesus mentions the rising of a great star in the sky, when it stops at the place of zenith, its highest position in the sky on any given day. This star or this Great conjunction was thus read by the Magi as an astrological aspect or omen of prophecy. At its zenith, the astrological aspect was at the peak or height of influence over the position of the earth located directly below. The Magi calculated the position of the zenith in the sky, marked the position of location directly below this astrological aspect and came up with the city of Bethlehem. Thus, the Star or the Great Conjunction from above bestowed its prophetic power on the child born below in Bethlehem.
There is something magical about a night wedding. The moon above, the twinkling stars, and the glowing lights all provide a romantic and fairy tale atmosphere for a wedding ce&remony. There are some things you can do to make your evening wedding even more special. No matter what the theme of the ceremony is, a night wedding is a refreshing departure from a daytime ceremony.Choose a theme that corresponds with the time of the wedding. Some ideas are Midsummer Night's Dream, Starry Night, and Country Night. Decorate with many clear twinkle lights, and choose a clear tent instead of a colored one so guests can see the stars during the reception. Colors should be rich and bright, either dark blue for a Starry Night theme, or rich jewel tones for a Midsummer Night's Dream wedding. Add lots of silver or gold, sparkles and crystals, and paper lanterns for a glowing, beautiful wedding. The most fun part of having an evening wedding is being able to use different types of light sources. Candles look beautiful, but they can easily flare out. Set them in a tall hurricane holder to avoid that issue. Another great idea is to lay small lights all over the ground leading from the ceremony to the reception. This creates a magical look. Instead of tossing flower petals or blowing bubbles after the couple has said "I Do," it's more fun and more practical to give guests sparklers they can use to light up the night. Kids will especially love this idea.Since the reception area won't be as brightly lit as it would be during the daytime, put focus on the cake with lights. You can set the cake on a table and surround it with glowing candles to put attention on the cake and make it look even more beautiful. Another idea is to cover the cake with sparkling rhinestones that will reflect the light and look amazing. Alternately, you can line the table that the cake is on with twinkle lights to give the cake its own little stage area. This will also look good in the photographs of the couple slicing the cake together.A fun food table with evening snacks will be fun if there will be a lot of kids coming to the wedding. One idea is to serve cotton candy on glow sticks. Another is to serve star shaped cookies. Decorate the food table with fairy jars. Make them by breaking a glow stick and shaking the liquid into the jar along with some glitter, which will light up a night wedding.Since a night wedding won't offer the same lighting as a day wedding, you and your photographer may need to get creative with lighting for the photos. A romantic idea for a bride and groom photo is a backlit picture with the silhouettes of the couple being the main focus. Another idea is to have the guests holding sparklers surround the couple while the photographer gets a photo of the couple lit up by sparks. Any nearby street lights also make dramatic lighting for evening photos. Black and white photos look amazing with evening lighting, so that's a good idea for select photos of the evening.Putting together wedding favors is one of the most fun parts of any wedding. For a special night wedding, offer guests a beautiful candle wrapped in fabric and tied with a ribbon. Miniature champagne bottles are also a fun favor. Reference a popular 80s song, and hand out sunglasses that can be worn "at night." Glow in the dark stars, star studded boxes filled with star shaped candy, or gourmet bags of coffee are also fun ideas for evening.A night wedding can be elegant, beautiful, and very memorable. Select a theme for the wedding and beautiful colors and build from there. Make sure there are plenty of light sources for photos, but that the overall theme is glowing, romantic, and cozy. Make a night wedding special with twinkle lights, candles, and creative light sources. Many brides use pink as a wedding color. Most people think there are only a couple of shades of this popular color. However, according to Pantone, there are 116 various tones of the color pink.
If you live north of the Equator (in the northern Hemisphere), then the "North Star"is very near the same point in your sky 24/7/365, and you can see it at that pointwhenever &your sky is dark enough and clear enough.

That depends on your eyesight and where you live. A person with 20/20 eyesight living in away from any city lights can see about 10,000 stars, although many will appear to be &"smeared together". With a small telescope, you can see 100,000 stars, and the bigger the telescope, the more you can see.
In city lights, you may be lucky to see more than a few hundred stars.
We don't actually wish for power failures, but if you are in one, see if you can go outside and look at the stars.

You can see planets in the night sky because they reflect the sun's light toward you, and because the sun is not then in the sky to drown out that faint reflection.

Yes, they may have died a long time ago. Because sight can only travel so fast and the stars are so far away, they may have possibly died thousands, millions, maybe even billi&ons of years ago.
There are a great many objects that might accurately respond to that question. In
order to get any idea of what you may actually be seeing, it would be necessary to &
know where you're located, the time and date that you saw it, and how far above
 the southern horizon it was.
